THE ULTIMATE LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE !

We focus on giving back to the community and building relationships with our family and the people around us. Throughout the year we do mini-vikes (where we babysit kids ages kindergarten through second grade) , help out at the care center in Waverly (playing bingo with them or planting flowers). Some of the bonding activities we do are go to defy gravity, Vala's Pumpkin Patch and our ice skating Holiday party. On the competitive side of FCCLA, we compete in Students Taking Action with Recognition, or STAR, which is coming up with a project to improve/or start something in your community or school that is bigger than yourself. You have the opportunity to compete at the district, state, and national level. We recruit new members during recruitment week by holding our annual ice blocking party where we slide down a hill on a big block of ice! We continue to recruit new members by handing out Smarties candy that says "Be a Smartie, join FCCLA", Peppermints that have the slogan "you're Mint to be in FCCLA". We are one of the largest clubs at Waverly High school and our membership has grown in the last five years. We start out as a group of people and by the end of the year we are able to bond through of our activities and become like a real family. We all share countless memories and inside jokes with each other. And that's what make FCCLA so much fun to be a part of.
